Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin believes that no one in the team doubted that Mesut Ozil was going to sign a new contract.
There was speculation linking Ozil with a move away, even to teams like Barcelona or Manchester United.
But he decided to stay and sign a new deal that will net him up to £350k-a-week. And Bellerin believes the decision was never a doubt amongst Arsenal players.
Bellerin added: “Everyone in the training ground and everyone in the team knew he was going to stay.
“He’s a guy who loves London, loves Arsenal and he gets really angry when things don’t go well so you know how much it means to him.
“We know how much it means for him to win or to lose for this club. So everyone in the dressing room was sure.
“It’s as exciting as a new signing to have a player with his qualities and all he brings to the team to sign for a few more years it is really exciting for us and for the fans.”
