A wholly-owned Ghanaian airline company, Goldstar Air has decided to honour the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu by naming one of their aircrafts after him.

This was made known when the management of the airline company paid a courtesy call on the Muslim leader on Wednesday December 26, 2019.
The Chief Executive Officer of Goldstar Air, Mr. Eric Bannerman indicated that the decision to name the Muslim leader after one of their aircrafts is to recognize his efforts at promoting inter-faith unity and harmony in Ghana.
The spokesperson for the Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu noted that, the Muslim leader was excited by the recognition and indicated his support for the success of Goldstar Air.

“What gives him most excitement is that it has been announced that one of the aircrafts will be named after him in recognition of the efforts that he has been making to promote inter-faith harmony, peace and for his tolerance and how he also uses the youth to promote development.
“He (Chief Imam) has become a source of inspiration for our young people to be more tolerant and patient and to be peaceful in the way that we live with others”.
He also prayed for peace and national cohesion among all faiths and religious groups across the world.
