The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation on Wednesday February 26, 2020 commissioned and handed over a six (6) unit classroom block at Tamale Senior High School in the Northern region.

The six unit classroom block which will boast of a 240 mono desks, office furniture for teachers and white boards to enhance teaching and learning was commissioned and handed over by the Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah and the Regional Coordinating Director of the Tamale Metro, Alhaji Alhassan lssahaku.
Being the social investment arm of GNPC, the building of the ultramodern classroom block forms part of the Corporation’s effort in impacting lives of Ghanaians through lnfrastructure and education.

In a short ceremony in Tamale, the Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, expresses his sincere joy for the completion of the project; states that @gnpc.ghana has taken a bold approach with its CSR to ensuring that every part of Ghana sees a developmental project in its name as Ghanaians remain stakeholders of Ghana’s oil & gas industry.
“The Foundation has, since 2018, completed about 270 projects across the country and has initiated 570 more spread across the 16 regions of the country to ensure every Ghanaian lays claim to benefitting from the exploration of the Nation’s resources,” he said.

Dr. Eduah added that as the distribution of projects continue across board, a principal consideration for any further support to Tamale SHS rests chiefly on how well this classroom facility is managed.
Speaking at the ceremony, The Ag. Head of Environment & Social Amenitues at the GNPC Foundation, Madam Lubaabat Habib- Jawulaa ,also highlighted on the Foundation’s programmes for the year and reiterated its commitment to reach many deprived communities this year.

The Headmaster of the school, Rev Edward Azeka in his welcome speech at the ceremony states that the school was having an infrastructural deficit due to the increase in enrollment of students hence commended the GNPC Foundation for the kind gesture to the school.
The Regional Coordinating Director of Tamale Metro, Alhaji Alhassan lssahaku, said Government’s Free Senior High School policy remains an important step in offering equal opportunities to every Ghanaian and rehashes government commitment to it.
He again lauded the GNPC Foundation for its role in Education and partnering Government In diverse waya to improve the quality of life of people and communities.

According to the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, their vision is to impact the lives of not less than 10 million Ghanaians across the country .
