Goldfields Ghana Limited will on Wednesday February 27, 2019 cut sod for the upgrade of the Tarkwa and Aboso(TNA) Park at 11am prompt.
The plans to transform the park to a modern stadium was revealed during the company’s external launch of their 25th anniversary in Accra last year.
A Committee was set up to carry out a feasibility studies and the cost estimation for the transformation exercise. The Committee’ report was presented to the management of the company and Kyfilla.com understands, a sod cutting exercise would be held in Tarkwa on the aforesaid date before works commence.
The Tarkwa and Aboso Park is currently used by Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama Sporting Club as their home grounds.
Goldfields Ghana aside deciding to transform the park to a modern stadium have contributed immensely to the growth of football in the country as they played a key role in the first qualification of the Ghana Black Stars in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany with a mega sponsorship package.
