The Youth & Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has given Asante Kotoko an alternative option after the closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The National Sports Authority has temporarily closed down the Baba Yara Sports Stadium which was serving as home ground for Premier League clubs Asante Kotoko and King Faisal as well as other lower tier clubs.
The sudden closure of the stadium means Kotoko and King Faisal especially, have to choose new venue for their ongoing Premier League campaign.
However, Hon. Asiamah during his inspection tour at the deteriorated Baba Yara Sports Stadium mentioned that, the Nyinahin sports complex in the Ashanti region is ready to serve as the home ground for the two clubs if they want to use the edifice.
He stated that, the Nyinahin sports complex is ninety six percent ready, left with some finishing touches but the pitch itself is ready for use.

The Nyinahin Sports Complex is a 5000 capacity situated at Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti region, which boast of a FIFA standard football pitch, basketball & volleyball courts, handball pitch, gymnasium, Olympic standard tartans track, youth counselling centre, ICT centre, modern restaurant and a hostel facility.
