All markets in the Bono, Ahafo and the Bono East regions will be closed down on Monday, March 30, 2020 for a fumigation exercise.
According to a statement, His Excellency President Akufo-Addo has directed the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) to coordinate with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA’s) to enhance the condition of hygiene in markets across the country.

Pursuant to the directives, all the 43 markets in the Ahafo region as well as 125 in the Bono region and the other 78 in the Bono East region will be closed down on Monday for disinfection exercise to be carried out.
The exercise forms part of the directives to control the spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease in the country.

Per the statement, the various markets in the three regions will be opened on Tuesday March 31, 2020.
