Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Hon Kokofu was very emphatic on his support for the Deputy Chief of Staff, who he believes has gone through the mill as far as Bantama politics is concerned.
“I was the MP for Bantama but lost the seat in 2015. Per our policy, Asenso-Boakye should have continued the mantle because he knows aplenty even at a young age. He has learnt a lot but needed to study more and serving at the Presidency is a plus.
“I defeated him [Asenso-Boakye] in 2011 during the primaries but in my acceptance speech, I declared him to be a future leader for Bantama because I saw something in him.
“It became a nationwide discussion when I lost the primaries but it’s now an opportunity for the people of Bantama to rewrite the odds by voting for him [Asenso-Boakye] as their leader.

So October last year, I decided not to contest for the seat.
