The report has understandably met an equal share of criticism and commendation from some top figures in the Western Region.
Sekondi Sports Stadium is currently expected to undergo renovations after representatives of the government cut sod for its renovations pushing much pressure on Eleven Wise, Hasaacas and Proud United to find an alternative when football returns.
Speaking on the matter on Kingdom 107.5 FM in Takoradi, Michael Otoo revealed how the idea was hatched and his intentions to collaborate with other aspiring MPs in the region to support the plan to renovate the Gyandu facility.
He added that despite the story coming up prematurely, he’s going to still push for permission and liaise with the other aspiring MPs to work things out to renovate Gyandu Park.
“I was discussing with my friends on how to improve the standard of certain parks within the Efia constituency due to the lapse in the usage of the facility due to the COVID–19, TAMSCO School Park, Efia Park and George Blay Park, Anaji – so we should call on the Agric workers to come and survey then parks so we can improve the standard.

“Gyandu Park came in along the way, but we realized the cost for renovating Gyandu Park isn’t something that I can only take up so let me liaise with my other parliamentary candidates. But we haven’t even met to discuss it, but it was an idea I brought up – just that the journalist was quick to break the news.
“Again, it’s not easy because I’m an Aspiring MP, you need to pass through a lot of processes – secure approval from Sports Director[NSA] and ask permission from others in-charge. There are a lot of processes. A lot of background works.
“But I’ll still push to ensure something like that is done, not only Gyandu Park, but other parks” – Michael Otoo told Kwesi Koomson of Kingdom 107.5 FM
