The Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has inspected the Sekondi Sports Stadium for renovation works to begin.
The Sekondi Sports Stadium has not enjoyed any major renovation works since it was built in 2008 under the regime of former President of Ghana John Agyekum Kuffour.
The stadium was built purposely to co-host the 2008 African Cup of Nations which was hosted in Ghana and since then has not seen any major facelift.
Speaking during the inspection tour, Hon Isaac Kwame Asiamah bemoaned the attitude of Ghanaians when it comes to maintenance culture, stressing that the stadium wouldn’t have reached this stage if there was maintenance module to keep the edifice in shape.
He mentioned that, already the contractor has begun the renovation exercise but indicated that the exercise has been put in two phases.
