The residents of Ngyiresia, a suburb in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region, woke up to a disheartened news, as a family of five have been killed with the sixth person badly wounded during a torrential downpour on Friday.
The relentless rain which lasted over seven hours, saw the building of the family collapsed, causing five lives perished with one badly wounded.
According to the residents, the incident happened around 7:30pm on Friday during the heavy downpour.
Narrating the incident to Kyfilla.com reporter Kenneth Abban Jnr, Mr. John Eshun who is the landlord explained that, a rainwater run-off slided and gradually hit the back of the house, causing the wall to collapsed due the intensity.
He continued that, the five perished souls were heavily asleep during the rainfall with a one-year old baby also included.
Kyfilla.com understands, the dead bodies of the five have been kept at the morgue in Effia Nkwanta teaching hospital with the only survivor responding to treatment at the Essikado hospital.
