Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has dispelled reports of him leaving the club.
There was a widely reports in the local media that the Portuguese tactician is leaving the club at the end of the 2020/21 league season.[ads2]
This came after Asante Kotoko lost the league title to bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak.
But coach Barreto has dismissed the reports, stating that nobody from the management of the club has told him to leave after the season.[ads3]
“I, as a coach haven’t said I’m leaving, the Board and management have not said anything so I don’t want to respond to speculations that I’m leaving at the end of the season,” he said.
Meanwhile, coach Barreto could end the season with a title for Asante Kotoko as they are currently contending for the Ghana FA Cup – Kotoko will have to eliminate Berekum Chelsea to keep their chances of winning the competition alive.[ads5]
