The Ahanta Stool Heads and Supis Organization have called on President Akufo-Addo to help in resolving the various chieftaincy disputes on the land.
According to the Organization, the rate at which chieftaincy disputes is engulfing the land is gradually getting out of hand, hence their call to the President to take immediate step in resolving them.[ads2]
Addressing the media at a forum held at the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly in Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, the Abusuapanyin of Busia Traditional Area, Nana Kwesi Bediako stated that the chieftaincy disputes and violence on the land is becoming aplenty and as soon as possible there should be immediate action to dwindle the unpleasant situation.

He stated that a petition would be sent to the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ebenezer Kojo Kum to lead them hold a dialogue with President Akufo-Addo to step in and resolve the bummer situation which is currently hindering development of Ahanta compared to their peers.
“We will send a petition to the Chieftaincy Minister to lead us meet President Akufo-Addo and plead with him to come to our aide in solving the disputes on the various stools for Ahanta to also develope like its peers. “[ads3]
Nana Kwesi Bediako however urged the various traditional heads under the Ahanta Traditional Council to stay away from violence and embrace peace to help the land to develop.
“We need to be united, Ahanta is not developing because of the numerous chieftaincy disputes engulfing the land. We have have bad roads, our youth don’t have jobs to do but most of the natural resources for Ghana comes from Ahanta”, Nana Bediako said when the various Family Heads and Supis in Ahantaland met to discuss the future and how best they can come together and build a better future for the next generation.[ads5]
