Telecommunication giant, MTN has launched the 2021 edition of the Mobile Money (MoMo) technology Fair at Tarkwa on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
The maiden edition of the fair was held under the theme “Promoting Brighter Lives Through Technology And Digital Enablement”.
Speaking at the fair, the Regional Senior Manager for South West, MTN Ghana, Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko stated that the introduction of the mobile money technology has become necessary because the global operating business environment has changed due to the devastating coronavirus pandemic which has collapsed my entities hence businesses going digital.
According to Mr. Owusu, the sudden decision to digitalize mobile money is to use the latest in mobility services and digital technology to adapt to the way people work and increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
“We at MTN believe that everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected life. In view of this we are organizing this fair to bring together businesses in Tarkwa and its environs through the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry to have a three-day fair to allow local business owners the opportunity to interact with technology on how both can collaborate to use technology to enhance their operations”, he said.
“As a company that is pursuing a digital agenda to enhance customer experience, we are happy to introduce you to our digital platforms which have been designed to help business operate efficiently and enjoy the best values”, Mr. Owusu added.
He reiterated that the MTN MoMo platform provides the platform for payments, lending, insurance, m-commerce, savings and so on. He explained that the Ayooba app is a social media tool for advertisement, socialization, user generated content and instant messaging.
Mr. Prince Owusu continued that, “We also have Enterprise Services for your Internet Of Things, Unified Comms and cloud services. I would like to encourage you to register for MoMo, download the MyMTN and Ayooba Apps and take advantage of the opportunities that comes with them”

He concluded by saying that MTN still remains committed to enhancing customer experience and in view of that, the company is continuing to invest in network this year to provide users with a resilient network.
Touching on the MTN 25th anniversary, Mr. Prince Owusu said that, “we have dedicated the rest of the year to celebrate customers. Let me use this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for keeping faith in us. As MTN celebrates its 25th Anniversary, we are rewarding customers for their loyalty through promotions and other activities

He admonished customers to be weary of fraudsters who would like to take advantage of unsuspecting customers.
He said all promotions by MTN will be announced in the press and the company will only contact customers with 024430000 if there is any promotion. He entreated customers not to entertain calls from strangers who pretend to provide assistance in a transaction or “who claim you have won a promotion. whenever you are in doubt call 100.”
