Newcastle United midfielder, Christian Atsu says nobody expected the Magpies to beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Newcastle United piped Tottenham Hotspur by a goal to nil in the English Premier League on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Sports Stadium.
The 27-year old midfielder came off the bench in the 17th minute, to provide an assist for Joelinton to score the only goal in the cagey encounter.
Speaking after the victory, the 2015 AFCON best player stated that the victory came as a huge surprised and that’s what Newcastle United is made of.
“Infact the fans love the club and they have to be upset when things are not going well in the team.
“Nobody expected us to beat Tottenham, they were saying our best is a draw, but this is what Newcastle United is made of”, he said.
Newcastle United will face Leicester City in the Football League Cup on Wednesday before playing Watford United in the Premier League at the St. James Park on Saturday.
