Head coach of Karela United, Johnson Smith has lauded the Ghana League Clubs Association and Startimes for organizing a new competition as league season in Ghana is currently put on hold.
The competition is to afford teams that have been inactive the opportunity to engage in footballing activities as the country await the return of the league.
The tournament will be participated by the Ghana Premier League teams as well as the division one.

However, the former Sekondi Eleven Wise gaffer Johnson Smith believes the competition is up to scratch and his outfit are geared up to showcase their spontaneous form.
“It’s a good idea and we are ever ready for the competition”, he told Kwesi Koomson of Takoradi based Aseda FM during an interview.
Meanwhile, reports reaching kyfilla.com suggest that talks are ongoing to have the competition named after the late Dr. Kofi Annan.

The competition is sponsored by television broadcasting firm StarTimes who are supporting with a whooping $100,000 per kyfilla.com‘s understanding.
