Damien Smith on Saturday shrugged off competition from four other bodybuilders to emerge winner of the 2018 Ghana’s Strongest challenge. He becomes the only person to hold the title twice having won the 2017 event.
Damien Smith (ShakaZulu) defended his tittle in this year’s edition of the Ghana’s Strongest after going through an impressive run in the finale.

The grand finale was held for the very first time at the Takoradi Jubilee Park with Mustapha Arhin (Mayweather), Godfred Akobila and Victor Ampofo (Vandamme) all challenging Damien Smith (ShakaZulu) for the ultimate but all their effort proved futile.
Damien Smith started his smooth run in the first round by coming top in the car pull and also the second round which was the farmers walk.
Godfred Akolbila came to the scene in the fourth round by winning the dead lift after Damien Smith had won the third event; the Clin and Jek.
The final round, which was sack in the pond race saw Godfred Akobila winning coming top but it wasn’t enough to win him the ultimate.
ShakaZulu’s main contender, Victor Ampofo came second with Godfred Akobila placing third and Mustapha Arhin (Mayweather) taking the fourth place.
Damien Smith walked away with a luxury Honda Accord car, 3,000 cedis cash, certificate, medal and products from sponsors of the competition.
Victor walked home with 8,000 cash prize and a certificate, while Godfred took 6,000 cedis cash and a certificate. Mustapha got 5,000 cedis with a certificate. Each of the four also received assorted products from sponsors.
