The maiden edition of the Portable Practical and Educational Preparations’ (PPEP) Special Invitational Tournament has successfully come to an end.
The tournament which started in August 30 and ended in September 1 at the Apremdo Barraks Park in Takoradi, was organized by PPEP with support from the Effia-Kwesiminstim Municipal Assembly.
Ten juvenile clubs; Future Football Academy, Great Obiri Babies, Great Ahantas, Apremdo Arsenals, Young Barca Babies, Young Dreamers, Team Move FC, Bis Paradise, West Ridge United and Kopreyman FC both the Under 13 and Under 15 participated in the tournament.
Great Obiri Babies FC were crowned the champions of the Under 13 level, after beating Kansaworado-based Young Barca Babies in the grand finale on Sunday.
Both team failed to score in the regulation and had to be separated via shootouts. Great Obiri Babies won the shoot-outs on 3-1.
In the Under 15, Kopreyman FC from Mpohor defeated Young Dreamers 3-2 on penalty shoot-outs to lift the ultimate after 0-0 in regulation.
At the end of the competition,the Under 13 best goalkeeper award went to Philip Quarcoe of Great Obiri Babies whiles the best defender went to Emmanuel Quainoe of Young Barca.

Joshua Yeboah bagged two goals in the competition to win the Under 13 topscorer award, with the overall best player accolade going to Lawyer Antwi of Great Obiri Babies FC. Daniel Cobbinah of Great Obiri Babies was adjudged the best coach of the level.
In the Under 15 level, Momen Isshaque of Kopreyman FC was voted the best goalkeeper whiles the best defender award went to Young Dreamers towering defender James Arthur.
Emmanuel Cobbinah of Young Barca was adjudged the topscorer of the Under 15 level after scoring four goals.
Apremdo Arsenals Babies enterprising gaffer, Isaac K Baidoo populary known as Mourinho was named the best coach of the Under 15 level.
The overall best player award was bestowed on Young Dreamers sensation James Arthur.
Speaking after the tournament, Hon. Micheal Otoo, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency, who was among the invited guests for the tournament indicated that, such tournament should be organised across the country to help revive Ghana football.
He also lauded PPEP for organizing the tournament and believe it will continue across the country and not Western region alone.
The main representative of PPEP Mr. Jacob Wemegah was thankful to his organization (PPEP) for the initiative to help identify talents and inculcate reading skills and education in them. He said his outfit may be looking at providing some scholarships for deserving children in the near future.
