A mining company, Asanko Gold Ghana Limited has donated five (5) petrological microscopes valued at $25,000 to the University of Mines and Technology, in Tarkwa.
The mining giants donated in response to a request made by the university to the company in their guest to establish a modern geological engineering laboratory.

The items were donated by Mr. Frederick Attakumah, the Senior Vice President of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Attahkumah said the company is committed to helping UMaT to train next generation of technical professionals for the mining industry.
Receiving the items on behalf of the university, The Vice Chancellor, Prof Jerry Kumah expressed his appreciation to Asanko Gold Ghana Limited for its prompt response to their request and looked forward to deepening the relationship between the two organizations.
