Black Stars ‘B’ head coach Maxwell Konadu has commended his players for a good job done against Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals of the ongoing WAFU Championship.

Ghana defeated Burkina Faso 5-4 on penalty shoot-outs on Friday after 1-1 in regulation to progress to the semifinals of competition.
Speaking to the media after the victory, Maxwell Konadu commended his charges for holding it down till the final kick of the game and believes Ghana’ dream of defending the title is still on course.
“We knew the quality we have and I commend my boys for the victory. We wanted to win the game in regulation time but they did well for holding it down till the last kick of the game”, Konadu said.

He stressed that, even though Ghana were beaten by the Burkinabes in the first-leg of the CHAN qualifiers, the second-leg in Burkina Faso is still open and his side will travel to Burkina Faso to fight hard.

“Talking about the CHAN qualifiers, they (Burkina Faso) defeated us in Kumasi and we take it in good faith but we will also go to Burkina Faso on October 26 to face them there”, he added.
