The Director of External affairs of Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) Madam Cynthia Lumor has said her outfit does not focus on sports development in the Western region.
The revelation was made at a stakeholder engagement in the Western Region targeting the Sekondi-Takoradi and SHAMA Metropolitan Assembly.
The stakeholder meeting focused on issues of mutual concern of the Assembly and TGL which has adopted six coastal districts which fall under the two Assemblies.
According to Madam Lumor, after obtaining license in 2006 to operate as an oil and gas company, the leadership of TGL asked a voluntary committee to conduct a research on what to do to get the attention of Ghanaians and after the research, sports was not part of the findings.

She however continued that TGL as an oil and gas company focus on stem education, enterprising development and shared infrastructure and therefore sports in the region is not a linchpin of the company.
“Sports am afraid is not our focus, because ours are enterprising development, shared infrastructure and stem education” – she said during an engagement with the media in the Western region.
