The maiden edition of the Western Tennis Championship has come to an end, with Frank Amoako and Norbert Asem emerging as lawns champions.

The competition organized by Westline Consult from November 1-3 at the Ghacem Club House in Takoradi, saw lawn players from the nook and crannies of the Western region competing.
In the men’s all play all, Frank Amoako beat off competition from John Coker and Brain Mensah to emerged as the champion. John Coker finished as the 1st runners up with Brain Mensah as the 2nd runners up.
Norbert Asem from Nsuta Tennis Club was the champion at the Children’s division whiles Samuel Yankson and Benjamin Amoah finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Winners were awarded with trophies and cash prizes. The maiden edition of the Western Tennis Championship was sponsored by Kent Investment and Integrity Logistics and Consult Limited, Voltic, Raybow Hotel and Justmax Travels all headquartered in Sekondi-Takoradi.

Speaking after the competition, Emmanuel Ampaabeng the Chief Executive Officer of Westline Consult stated that, “we want to groom the next generation of lawn tennis champions and we believe that this event which would be an annual one would help us to discover talents in lawn tennis.”
