The nominees for the 45th edition of Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards has been announced.

Black Stars trio of Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew and Mubarak Wakaso have been nominated for the male footballer of the year award.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Anna, Shafiu Mumuni of Ashgold and Joseph Esso of Hearts of Oak will be battling for the local best player of the year award.
In a statement signed by General Secretary of the association Charles Osei Asibey, the short listed nominees went through a careful but rigorous process in choosing who deserve an honor.
Over 27 sportsmen and women together with Sports Administrators and institutions will be rewarded for excellence.
Past president’s of SWAG, Hon Joe Aggrey and Mr. Oheneba Charles will be honored for their enormous contribution to SWAG and the Sports industry in Ghana.
A new category ‘SWAG Sports Journalist of the Year’ has been added to the categories with the nominees to be announced later.
This year’s edition will be 45th with MTN as the headline sponsor and will be held at the Accra International Conference Center in the New Year.
