The astute tactician led the Black Stars ‘B’ of Ghana to the finals of the competition but lost to the host country in penalty shoot-outs.

His skipper Shafiu Mumuni who has become the only player in the history of the WAFU Championship to score a hat-trick, won the golden boot award with four goals.

Even though, Ghana failed to defend the trophy, Maxwell Konadu’ technical knowledge imparted a lot on the Ghanaian side and with that, has been adjudged the overall best coach of the tournament.
