The Copper Queens of Zambia have handed Ghana 0–1 defeat on the road in the first leg of the decisive Olympic qualifying round for 2024.
With the Zambians having a tiny early advantage, both sides got off to a scorching start and went at it with the goal of taking the lead.
Within eighteen minutes of kickoff, the Copper Queens took the lead thanks to Racheal Kundananji, the most expensive female football player in the world.
In an effort to hold onto their lead, the Copper Queens remained mostly within their zone in the second half and we’re very resolute.
Despite creating a few chances, the Black Queens could not being the game back on level terms nor win it.
Zambia will earn an important 0–1 victory at the end of regulation time.
On Wednesday, February 28, the Black Queens will play the second leg at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The victor will earn a spot in the Paris, France, Olympic Games in 2024.
