The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications saw Ghana placed in Group I with Chad, Comoros, Central African Republic, Madagascar, and Mali.
The Black Stars qualified for the 2022 tournament in Qatar after making three straight appearances at the World Cups in 2006 in Germany, 2010 in South Africa, and 2014 in Brazil. However, they were unable to advance to the 2018 tournament.
Six African countries were split up into nine distinct groups in the official draw for the first FIFA World Cup, which would be held in three nations: the United States of America (USA), Canada, and Mexico.
In a CAF Play-Off competition, the four top runners-up from the Groups will compete in the CAF Play-offs the winner of the CAF Play-Off Tournament will participate in the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.

The qualifiers are slated to begin in November of this year, with Match Days One and Two falling between November 13 and November 21, while Match Days Three and Four are set for June 2024.
The last match day will take place from October 6 to 14, and the Continental play-off will take place between November 10 to 18, 2025, at a location that will be announced later.
