Black Stars Coach Otto Addo has announced his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and Central African Republic.
Otto Addo addressed the press today Wednesday May 29 at the Ghana FA Headquarters, where he named the players selected for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Coach Otto Addo’s 26 man squad includes 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders and 7 forwards.
They players are;
Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Wollacott, Frederick Asare
Defenders:Gideon Mensah, Ebenezer Annan, Mohammed Salisu, Jerome Opoku, Abdul Mumin, Alexander Djiku, Alidu Seidu and Tariq Lamptey.
Midfielders:Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Abdul Salis Samed, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey,Edmund Addo, Elisha Owusu and Francis Abu.
Forwards:Osman Bukari, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ibrahim Osman, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Brandon Thomas Asante.
The Black Stars will commence camping on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
The team is expected to train in Ghana for six days before departing for the crucial game against Mali on June 4.
The Black Stars will face Mali on June 6 at Stade 26 Mars in Mali and then play as host Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10.
Ghana commenced the qualifiers with a win and defeat. They secured a 1-0 win over Madagascar before succumbing to a narrow defeat to Comoros. Currently, Ghana occupies 4th position in Group I.
