Tanzanian giants Simba SC midfielder James Kotei has described the national league as more competitive, carrying the passion of the nation.
According to the former Corners Babies FC and Liberty Professionals 24-year old midfielder, the Tanzanian league is financially stronger and has been able to keep all star players in the league. Kotei maintains that because of the competitive nature of the league, other players who join from other countries would have to better their input stay in competition.

According to the sensational Simba SC number 3, many people in the country support club football more passionately than the Tanzanian national football team. Clubs like Simba SC, Azam FC, Young African Americans and the likes, draw more crowd with very little attention to the national team, with the league drawing much more concentration.
“The fans are more in support of their clubs than the national team and the players prefer playing in the local league to traveling abroad , very few of them do travel recently”, Kotei stated further.
James Kotei, the Accra born football sensation explained that failure to qualify for the continental major tournaments like the AFCON is the reason why many Tanzanians prefer to support the clubs much more than the normal team.
In his submission, Kotei warned that one would be very wrong to underestimate the quality of football in Tanzania based on the national team’s inability to qualify for the World Cup or the AFCON, saying, the quality of football in the league is just a delight to watch.
