Court has Sentenced 4 in Akropong for violating restrictions on Public Gathering.
Police arrested four persons on May 1, 2020 for violating the law on imposition of restrictions at Akropong, Eastern Region, when they organised a public chieftaincy event.

The case was sat on by Her Lordship Arit Nsemoh who ruled against the 4 for violating the laws on public gathering.
The four who were sentenced on May 5, 2020 are Nana Odi Asempa(aged 76), Mr. Bernard Osei Opoku(aged 55), Odehye Kofi Asiedu(aged 57) and Nana Sememshyia Ohene Asah Krofa(aged 57) have been convicted on their own plea today 6th May, 2020 by the Circuit Court, Akropong presided by Her Lordship Arit Nsemoh.

They are to pay a fine of twelve thousand one hundred and fourty-four Ghana Cedis (GH₵12,144.00) each or in default, serve four (4) years jail terms each.
This has been the first of its kind in the history of Ghana.
