The New Patriotic Party has elected Freddie Blay as its Chairman at the just eneded National Delgates Conference held in the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua.
He beat off stiff oppoisition from Freddie Worsemawu Blay, Dr Richard Amoako Baah, Stephen Ayesu Ntim who were hoping to take up the mantle of leadership.
Blay polled 3021 votes as against Ntim’s 2515 votes.
Dr Richard Amoako Baah polled 18 votes.
This is the fourth time that Mr Stephen Ntim has attempted to serve the NPP as national chairman but has not been successful.
Most Rev Dr Samuel Asante Antwi swore the new elected executives into office moments after the the Electoral Commission declared the results at 4:20am on Sunday.
Ntim accepting his fourth defeat indicated that it will not affect his loyalty to the New Patriotic party.
