Honourable Joseph Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency in the Western Region and also doubles as the Deputy Energy Minister, has made a huge revelation that young enterprising footballer Abubakar Lawal from Takoradi ,who was part of the 2017 Ghana Squad for the U.17 Fifa World Cup in lndia, was dropped on Corruption basis.
Speaking at the sod cutting Ceremony for the construction of a $250,000 Ultra Modern Astro turf by the GNPC Foundation at the Effia Kuma Police Park in Takoradi, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe revealed that Abubakar Lawal ,who he believes should have made the final Ghana squad for the World cup in lndia ,was dropped because of Corruption act prior to the FIFA World Cup in lndia last year.
” We had one Lawal who was part of the 2017 U.17 Squad at Gabon for the Under 17 Youth Championship tournament ,but was dropped prior to the world cup in lndia and I know it was on Corruption grounds, because he is a real talent .Anas has brought a lot of things ” Hon. Joseph Cudjoe revealed.
