Some Ghanaian sex workers who spoke on condition of anonymity to Skyy News disclosed that about thirty Nigerian migrants have invaded their operations, mainly at Old Railway Station in Tarkwa. These sex workers, Skyy News has learnt are between the ages of 15 and 35 years, and are being recruited by another Nigerian named “Shakaa”.
Sources say “Shakaa” is given a percentage of the monies her recruits make over night. Skyy News’ observed that some wooden structures have been erected along the rail lines to serve as brothels. It is reported that sex workers and other occupants are charged twenty Ghana cedi for a night in these brothels.
Due to the a perceived undesirable competition given the Ghanaian sex workers in the area, most of them have moved in to Accra, Kumasi and other towns in the country for businiess. A few others have also taken up a trade.
