The NDC, they believe was poised to elect and offer to Ghanaians, the exact opposite of a widely perceived corruption of the current administration.
“Throughout the party, it is agreed that the best thing to do is to present an incorruptible option to Ghanaians who feel disappointed with the daily emergence of corruption scandals.
The obvious choice is therefore Mr Alban Bagbin,” said Emmanuel Agbeshie, Mpohor Constituency communication officer andba member of the western regional communication team. He made the revelation on the sidelines of a meeting between Mr Bagbin and the constituency executives of the Western region.
According to him, throughout the party, Mr Bagbin was deemed as the NDC’s best bet mainly because of his reputation as an
incorruptible politician.
Apart from that, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament was also liked for hisnpolicy to make the party the main vehicle of his administration if he becomes President.
“Within the party, there are some people who are making moves with money, but I can tell you that the delegates receiving the money are mostly going to just ‘chop’ it and vote for Bagbin.
“If you have been following the news, you would know that Tema East has openly declared for Bagbin, Volta and the Upper West also have shown signs, and then for us in the Western region, it is an open secret that we are for Bagbin. I can tell you that at least seven regions are totally for Bagbin while the remaining three are going to split between him and others. Mr. Agbeshie said.
He said chiefs and traditional leaders around the country are generally in support of Mr Bagbin, citing numerous calls by various chiefs, from the Tema Mantse, Nii Adjei Kraku ll, to chiefs in the Western region, for him to be immortalised.
The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament is currently on tour in the Western region and has met regional and Constituency executives of the region on Friday and sold his message of hope to them.
During the meeting, enthusiastic executives, including Mr. Frank Somiah Andoh, a former communications Director and leading member of the NDC in the western region, openly pledged their support to him.
“Judging by the way things are going, victory for the brilliant second deputy speaker of parliament is a foregone conclusion” Mr. Somuah Andoh said.
“we know some people are going around sharing money, but we in the Western region are not for sale.
“I can also tell those who are sharing money that those who are receiving the cash will only ‘chop’ it for you. We are not fools, we know the neglect and disrespect we suffered for four years; we are not repeating that mistake. Infact, we are sure of Bagbin’s victory”. Mr. Somiah Andoh fired.
