People of Mpatado and Adientem are full of smiles following successful talks to secure the necessary financial support to construct eight class room unit for a Basic School – something the two neighboring communities have been lacking for the past 88 years.
The two towns were birthed somewhere 1940 and had struggled with getting a close by school for their inhabitants.
Since 1940, the people of the two communities resort to nearby towns for formal education; Inhabitants travel to nearby towns; Kwesimintsim, Assakae, Anaji and others to get basic education.
Adientem and Mpatado towns in the Kwesimintsim Constituency will finally get a basic school following successful discussions and the intervention of the Member of Parliament, Honorable Joseph Mensah.
According to a letter from the two communities petitioning the Member of Parliament to come to their aid; there were works to establish a six-unit class room block, but works halted due to lack of funding in 2010.
Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency, Honorable Joseph Mensah told www.kyfilla.com that instead of the original plan to construct a six class room unit for basic school, he has rather had funding to add two more and the contractor will be on site very soon.
“We have secured necessary funding for the eight class room unit instead of the six which was requested for by the authorities. There’s the need to add two, I received a letter from the community and had secured the necessary support.
“The contractor will start work soon and we will ensure he does a good work” – Honorable Joseph Mensah revealed.
