Commuting within Sekondi-Takoradi is now becoming terrorizing as a result of the bad nature of our roads blocking the few better ones.
In fact, these revolting roads in Sekondi -Takoradi are really holding back the growth of the whole region because of its effectual transportation which has open door for serious economic regression in the region.
Considering the fact that western region provides most of the country’s natural resources, people from this land believe that there is a need to pay attention to the road network of the region especially Sekondi- Takoradi.

Most drivers in Sekondi -Takoradi on daily basis refuse to use the “damaged” routes, which they call “death traps” leaving residents to walk long distances to their various homes which is quite dangerous especially at night.
It would be recalled that some time ago, the people of Kokompe in Takoradi demonstrated against their bad roads which led to confusion when police fired tear gas to disperse the angry protestors.
There has been a lot of car accidents but the toughest and heart-breaking of it all was the recent one on the Assakae road which six people lost their lives at a spot and this was because of our spoilt traffic light and also our deplorable state of road.
The Kwesimintsim – Anaji, Ntankoful – Kansaworodo, Assakae – Adenteim as well as Effia Nkwanta – Fijai road and New Takoradi roads are few of the horrible roads in the Sekondi- Takoradi metropolis.
Maintenance culture has been one of the difficult decisions to be taken by authorities in the Region. Apart from the poor road networks, we also have challenges in maintaining structures which were built with dollars of money.
Today on the kick off morning sports with Kwame Yeboah on Radio Silver 92.3fm, he raised concern about Sekondi Sports Stadium, Essipong not selected as one of the venue for the 2023 All Africans Games , because of the damaged roof.
