Black Queens of Ghana have opened their Africa Women’s Cup of Nations campaign with a slim win over Algeria.
The Queens hosted Algeria in the group A of the much anticipated AWCON 2018 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Gladys Amfobeah’s only goal secured the victory for coach Bashiru Hayford’ side in the titanic encounter.
The victory means Black Queens are top of the group with three points even though same group members Cameroon and Mali are yet to play.
Meanwhile, South Africa will meet tournament favorite Nigeria tommorow in group B whereas Zambia face Equitorial Giunea in the same group.
