Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL) held their end of year media engagement in Takoradi today 5th December, 2018 at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel.
The engagement was to brief the media about TGL’s operations in Ghana in the 2018 calendar year and their vision for next year.
Speaking at the gathering, the Managing Director of TGL, Mr. Maxwell Kweku Awortwi outlined that safety remains a key pillar in thier oil business and TGL would continue their operations in a manner that is safe for Ghanaians.
“As the operator of the Jubilee and TEN fields, ‘SAFETY’ remains a key pillar of our business and we will continue to conduct business in a manner that is safe for our people and the environment”, he said.
He however noted that safety record and performance for 2018 has been very good and TGL has had 5 million hours worked YTD with zero fatalities and a downward trend in Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF).
Mr. Awortwi continued by saying ‘ 2018 highlights include ongoing drilling at the Jubilee and TEN fields which is going very well and all is on track with two rigs; the Maersk Venturer and the Stena Forth to speed up the pace of work.
He however expressed his gratitude to the media for supporting TGL in 2018 and believes the relationship will grow even stronger.
In attendance were officials from TGL together with 53 media personnel from the length and breath of the Western region attended the engagement.
