Sekondi Hasaacas ended their clash with Sekondi Eleven Wise in a stalemate at the Sekondi Gyendu Park.
The Sekondi derby which is the biggest clash in Western region’s football history saw the Sekondi Gyendu Park full to capacity.
Hasaacas started the early minutes of the cagey encounter dominating, creating series of goal scoring opportunities but failed to even convert one into the net of Eleven Wise.
George Ekow Annan and John Koomson tried their possible best to get the opener for the 1931 side but all efforts went fruitless as David Nyame and Johans Bordoh were solid at the back for Eleven Wise.
The game turned around during the last minutes of the first half as the Western Show Boys showed eagerness to break the virginity of the game but couldn’t mapnuover their way through.
Eleven Wise continued pressing the defense of Hasaacas, knocking on the doors to get the opener but Albert Adjei calmness and seriousness at the back of Hasmal ensured that Bernard Dolphine, Barnabas Aidoo, Prince Opoku couldn’t strike the ball pass goalkeeper John K Arthur to the net of Hasaacas.
The intensity of the game was so high to the extend that spectators couldn’t blink their eyes to miss a single action.
Referee Francis Nti Orlando blew his whistle to bring the game to an end after ninety plus additional two minutes. The game ended in a 0:0 stalemate.
Kyfilla.com understands, the game was to honour late Sekondi Hasaacas Supporters Chairman, Mr. Richard Aggrey and also Sekondi Eleven Wise diehard supporter late Madam Mary Jacobs and the return leg of the encounter comes off next week at the Sekondi Gyendu Park.
