Kumasi Asante Kotoko held Kariobanji Sharks to a goalless draw in the round- 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Moi International Sports Stadium in Kasarani far away in Kenya.
The Kenyans started the early minutes of the encounter on a good note, creating lots of goal scoring opportunities but failed to convert a single ball into the net of the Porcupine Warriors.
Defenders Emmanuel Agyeman Badu and Abdul Ishmael Ganiyu were solid at the back for Asante Kotoko as Kariobanji Sharks attackers had it difficult to open the score sheet after dominating the early minutes of the cagey encounter.
Kotoko started warming themselves up in the game as winger Emmanuel Gyamfi and Maxwell Baako became a torn in the flesh of the Kariobanji Sharks defenders.
Sharks who were determined to get a favorable result before the return leg bounced back strong in the second half but squandered all the chances created.
Songne Yacouba who was introduced to the game in the second half was eager to break the virginity of the game but all efforts went fruitless.
The game ended in a goalless draw after the ninetieth minutes which means Kotoko stand a favourable chance of qualifying to the next round ahead of the return leg scheduled for Saturday 22nd December,2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
