Medeama Sporting Club head coach Samuel Boadu says Kotoko performance against Ashantigold in the John Agyekum Kuffour’ Cup shouldn’t be a yardstick to judge C.K Akonnor.
Kotoko were held to a 1:1 stalemate by Ashantigold during the entire 120 minutes in the regional derby game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi last Sunday.
After the game, supporters of the Porcupine Warriors together with most sports pundits have been bashing the head coach of the team C.K Akonnor for a poor showdown on last Sunday, saying Kotoko can’t stand the might of Coton Sports de Garoura with such performance in the final play-offs of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In an interview with NL Radio, Medeama SC gaffer Samuel Boadu who has been touted by many as the Ghana version of ‘Pep Guardiola’ has pleaded with Ghanaians including the media to avoid using the Ashantigold friendly to judge Kotoko head coach C.K Akonnor and has cautioned every Ghanaian to throw support for the team ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup final play-offs game against the Cameroonian elite league defending champions Coton Sports de Garoura on January 13,2019 at the Military Stadium in Yaounde-Cameroon.
“I think Kotoko game against Ashgold shouldn’t be used to judge C.K Akonnor even though they had a bad day”, he said.
“It’s time to support the team at this crucial stage where they will be playing Coton Sports in Africa”.
