Obuasi based Ghana Premier League side Ashantigold Sporting Club will battle Medeama Sporting Club for the ultimate in the finals of the Betway Cup 2019.
The maiden edition of the four- team tournament headlined by leading online betting company, Betway is to prepare the various participating teams for the upcoming league season in the country.
Ashantigold, host of the competition managed to whip Liberty Professionals by 2:1 to book final spot scheduled for Sunday 20th January, 2019.
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko goal poacher, Sadick Adams had the opener for Ashantigold from a spot kick before Elvis Kyei Baffour could get the equalizer for the Scientific Soccer Lads with the second spot kick in the cagey encounter.
Salia Outara however secured the victory for the Obuasi based team from a close range to book the final spot.
Medeama Sporting Club in the second game thrilled fellow Premier League side Aduana Stars by 5:2 to secure ticket to the grand finale.
Tahiru Awudu who was a real tormentor to the defense of Aduana Stars from the start of the game had four-solid goals whilst Samuel Ofori made it five for the Yellow and Mauves but Yahaya Mohammed and Pius Asante Yeboah had the consolation for the Dormaa based side
This means that, Ashantigold and Medeama Sporting Club would battle for the ultimate of the maiden edition of the Betway Cup scheduled for Sunday January 20, 2019 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
