Nkana FC defender Richard Ocran has apologized for his indiscipline behavior showed against Asante Kotoko goal poacher Songne Yacouba in their clash yesterday.
The Ghanaian international who was on stop of his game was red carded for laying a hand on Yacouba during the match-three encounter against Kotoko in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Even though Nkana FC showed enough muscles by beating the Porcupines 3:1 at the Nkana Stadium in Kitwe, Ocran’s unfortunate actions at the latter part of the second half was deemed as uncalled for and unsportsmanlike behavior towards Songne Yacouba.
Ocran has however apologized to his teammates and supporters as well as Songne Yacouba and the Asante Kotoko team alongside his supporters in Ghana who were determined to throw their maximum support to him in their match-four against the Porcupines in Kumasi.
“I’m sorry for my unfortunate actions yesterday against Songne Yacouba. It was unintentional even though tempers were higher during the game”, he told Sekondi based Radio Silver.
” I’ve not been able to sleep since yesterday due to what happened and I apologise to my teammates and the supporters and also to Songne Yacouba and the entire Kotoko team as well as my fans in Ghana who were willing to support me during return fixture in Ghana.
The red card means Ocran will missed their trip to Ghana to face Asante Kotoko in match-four of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages scheduled for Sunday March 3, 2019 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
