Kumasi Asante Kotoko heavily defeated Nkana FC today 3rd March, 2019 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Porcupines avenged their last weekend defeat to Nkana in Kitwe by thumping the Zambian side 3:0 today in match-four of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
Abdul Fatau Shafiu opened the deadlock with a 4th minutes strike before sensational winger Emmanuel Gyamfi doubled the lead in the 23rd minutes of the encounter.
Gyamfi, after getting the second for the Kumasi based side at the almost filled Baba Yara Sports Stadium, unfortunately was stretched off with Kwame Boahen as his replacement.
The defenders of the Zambian club couldn’t stand their feet as Songne Yacouba, Martin Antwi, kept on putting pressure on them. Finally Antwi had the third for the Porcupines in the 27th minutes to end the first half break.
Nkana FC returned from the break with a splendid of performance, trying to get a consolation to equal the head-to-head ratio but all efforts from Ronald Kampamba and Freddy Tshimenga was futile as Daniel Darkwah and Abdul Ganiyu alongside Augustine Sefah and Wahab Adams were composed at the back for the Porcupines.
The game ended 3:0 advantage Asante Kotoko who now boast of six points in group C second to Al Hilal who also whipped Zesco United 3:1 in Sudan.
Kotoko will play home to Al Hilal Omdurman in match-five of the CAF Confederation Cup before travelling to Zambia for their last game against Zesco United.
