Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach C.K Akonnor has heaped praises on his defender Daniel Darkwah for a mind-blowing performance today against Nkana FC.
Darkwah made his debut Africa appearance for the Porcupines as they whitewashed Zambian side Nkana FC 3:0 in match-four of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The defender who replaced Emmanuel Agyemang Badu lasted the entire minutes with a solid partnership with Abdul Ishmael Ganiyu at the defense of the Kumasi based club.
C.K Akonnor, however, disclosed that fielding the defender in the encounter was a risk he took as a coach and was impressed with the performance of the defender.
” Daniel Darkwah was a risk, but sometimes you have to take that risk.
” I am proud of the young man. I thought he would not last the full ninety but he did.” C.K. Akonnor told the press during the post match conference.
