The family of the late Black Stars skipper and coach, John Eshun have commended the government for organizing a befitting burial for the once upon a time defender.
The family, accompanied by representatives of the Retired Footballers Association of Ghana made a courtesy call on the Sports Ministry to show appreciation to the government for its unflinching supports before, during and after the funeral rites.
Eshun passed away on Tuesday, 6th November, 2018 in his home at Kojokrom in Takoradi after short illness and was buried on last Saturday March 2, 2019 at Essikado in Sekondi.
As a defender, the late footballer made several appearance for the national team, featured in two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches and also played at the 1968 and 1970 African Cup of Nations finals.
Having exhibited hard work and resilience, he represented Ghana at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City and the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and performed admirably.
