Former full back of the Black Stars of Ghana, John Paintsil is of the believe that Ghana will definitely win the 2019 Total African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ghana has already qualified for the 32nd edition of the prestigious tournament on the African continent even though they has a final qualifying game against Kenya on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to the former Fulham defensive midfielder, Ghana has enough and quality materials to win the tournament for the fifth time and Ghanaians only have to rally behind the team ahead of the tournament.
“Ghana will definitely have to win the 2019 AFCON because the materials are there for the coach “, he told Atinka TV.
” The coach Kwesi Appiah needs support from Ghanaians and I confidently believe the Black Stars can make Ghana proud in the tournament.
Ghana last won the prestigious tournament for the fourth time in 1982 in Libya under the late C.K Gyamfi and since then have struggled to lift the trophy again
Paintsil played for the Black Stars for eleven years, capped 89 appearance without scoring a goal.
The 37- year old was recently an assistant coach for South African side Kaizer Chiefs and currently handles his own lower tier side.
