The Ghana Armwrestling Federation in collaboration with Accra Brewery Limited beer brand, Eagle Extra Stout held a successful armwrestling challenge at Tarkwa in the Western region.
The competition witnessed an entourage from the the Ghana Armwrestling Federation headed by Charles Osei Assibey and staff from Eagle Extra Stout.
James Dufuah was crowned the overall best regional champion after the competition on last Sunday at the Cyanide Park in Tarkwa.
Grace Commey won the Women’s Division whilst Derrick Kwakye clinched the Men’s 99kg division and Elliot Lamprey winning the 60kg category.
Speaking after the competition, Charles Osei Assibey commended the entire Tarkwa community for their overwhelming support towards the successful organization of the competition and added that the various regions will have a feel of the competition in no time soon.
He however noted that, the champions will be given the chance to train with the national team and if they excel will join the national team for the upcoming tournaments.
” I will applaud the entire Tarkwa community for their overwhelming support and we expect the same regions to replicate same. The winners would be given the chance to train with the national team and when they excel, they will join the team for the upcoming tournaments. The competition is also to establish clubs in the various regions.
In attendance was the Ghana Armwrestling Federation Chairman, Charles Osei Assibey alongside Medeama SC President Moses Armah Parkah, Medeama CEO, James Essilfie,Kofi Asare Brako among higher personalities.
