Head coach for the senior national women’s team of Ghana, Mercy Tagoe Quarcoe says she dropped the NC Women’s Special Cup goal queen Perpetual Agyekum from the Black Queens provisional squad for the upcoming WAFU tournament on technical reasons.
The captain for the champions of the NC Women’s Special Cup, Hasaacas Ladies was excluded in the Black Queens 30 provisional squad for camping ahead of the upcoming tournament in Ivory Coast.
Her exclusion has seen most pundits asking questions with some even doubting whether Mercy Tagoe Quarcoe monitored the Special Competition.
But the former footballer cum FIFA referee has explained why she dropped Perpetual Agyekum from the 30 provisional squad, claiming it was technical reasons.
” Perpetual scored nine goals, six was through a penalty and three were through free kicks, will she came from the bench to score and go back ..?
” Football is about totality, not about specializing in one area and looking at her age, she is grown, but what is she coming to add to the team?
“It’s not about favoritism or nepotism because it is not me, but rather Ghana.
Meanwhile, Perpetual Agyekum led Hasaacas Ladies to clinch the NC Special Women’s Cup after beating Ampem Darkoa 3:2 in the final at the El Wak Sports Stadium. She even scored the decider from a spot kick to give Hasaacas Ladies victory over the Kumasi based side.
