The good people of Sekondi Takoradi have initiated a campaign on social media to express their frustration over a trend they have been very silent about until recently.
The campaign simply is to highlight the exploits of one of the most prolific Ghanaian strikers abroad who has been consistently snubbed by the handlers of the senior national team.
Boasting a record that beats most Ghanaian strikers abroad in the last 7-8 seasons, John Antwi has found his name excluded from callups by the Black Stars technical team headed by Coach James Kwasi Appiah.
Aside a 5 minute cameo appearance in a purposeless friendly against Saudi Arabia, John Antwi has found stints in a Black Stars Jersey elude him severally.
His goal tally and his credentials in the Egyptian top flight however suggests he should not suffer such a fate most especially when directly compared to the blunt goal poachers who have been invited ahead of him.
The Misr El Makasa hitman’s plight seems to have triggered a reaction from the seemingly fed up Sekondi Takoradi social media influencers who have started a campaign portraying the good works of the 26 year old striker and justifying why he deserves more opportunities in a Black Stars Jersey especially as Ghana prepares for the AFCON 2019 in Egypt- a terrain Antwi has made a huge mark-.
