Misr El-Makasa deadly goal poacher in the Egyptian Premier League, John Duku Antwi has been nominated for the 2018 edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana’s (SWAG) ‘Footballer Of The Year’ awards.
The 26-year old was handed his debut nomination in the aforesaid awards based on his extraordinary form for the Arab Contractors Stadium lads last year.
The former Sekondi Eleven Wise forward who has been a thorn in the flesh defenders in the Egyptian Premier League will battle with Atletico Madrid midfield dynamo Thomas Partey alongside defender Kassim Nuhu of German Bundesliga outfit, TSG Hoffenheim, as well as Joseph Aidoo of Genk in the Belgium League and Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalie Felix Annan.
Antwi who has added to his marks, ten league goals in the Egyptian Premier League this season, is also vying for a cut in the Black Stars final squad for the 2019 AFCON which will be hosted in Egypt, a soil he has made a mark for himself for the past six years.
The 44th edition of the SWAG awards has been scheduled to come off on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Accra International Conference Center with Ghanaian dancehall gem Samini billed to perform.
