Rising afropop songstress Shola Baybe, historically took home the Female Vocalist Act of the Year in the third edition of the Rigworld Training Center Western Music Awards which came off on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi.
The Fakye hit-maker beat competition from two-times winner of the same category Ayma Wendy, ESY, EUYU, Abna and Mrs. Susie Arthur to clinch the award.
Even though Ayma’s Ware Me was tipped for the award, Shola Baybe’ Fakye track which she featured Western region’s finest Nero X was eventually the winner.
Shola Baybe becomes the first ever artiste to win the category at the expense of Ayma Wendy who has for the last two editions took home accolade.
The In Love with You composer expressed her excited after receiving the award and believes it will motivate her enough to work harder. She however urged all female artistes in the region to grind up to help compete with the males.
Meanwhile, Ayesem was adjudged the overall artiste of the year of the third edition of the prestigious awards in the Western region.
